Retro Macaw – Unisex T-Shirt – Paradise Has Feathers
Palm trees overhead.
Sun on the horizon.
Macaw in charge.
Bring a little tropical paradise into everyday life with the Retro Macaw Unisex T-Shirt, featuring a colorful macaw parrot backed by a classic palm tree and glowing sun.
With its nostalgic vacation-inspired artwork, the design feels like something discovered in a beachside souvenir shop decades ago—the kind of shirt you’d buy on vacation and continue wearing long after the suntan disappeared.
Bright.
Tropical.
Retro.
And considerably cheaper than purchasing a one-way ticket to an island.

Welcome to the Monday Morning Beach Resort
Monday.
8:11 AM.
Outside:
Gray.
Cold.
Drizzling.
Inside:
Fluorescent lighting.
Computer screens.
Printer noises.
Someone heating oatmeal in the break room.
Paradise.
You walk into work wearing your Retro Macaw T-Shirt.
Bright parrot.
Palm tree.
Glowing sun.
Basically the exact opposite of everything happening outside.
Coworker looks up.
“Wow.”
“What?”
“That shirt is aggressively tropical.”
You look down.
Fair.
“I’m protesting Monday.”
They nod.
“Approved.”
You sit.
Computer on.
Email opens.
Forty-three unread messages.
Your tropical optimism immediately encounters resistance.
You stare at the screen.
Then at the macaw.
“Take me with you.”
Macaw refuses.
Typical.
8:37 AM.
First meeting.
Everyone looks exhausted.
One person hasn’t turned their camera on.
Another is clearly eating breakfast.
Someone says:
“Can everybody see my screen?”
Nobody can.
Classic.
Then someone notices your shirt.
“Where are you going?”
“Nowhere.”
“You look like you’re going on vacation.”
“Mentally, I already have.”
A few people laugh.
Meeting continues.
But something has changed.
The tropical shirt has entered the conversation.
9:52 AM.
Coffee break.
Coworker approaches.
“I’ve been thinking about your shirt.”
Concerning opening.
“Okay.”
“If that bird owned a resort, what would it be called?”
You stare.
This is obviously more important than work.
“Macaw Bay.”
They shake their head.
“Too obvious.”
“Paradise Parrot?”
“No.”
“Feather Island?”
“Sounds dangerous.”
“How?”
“I don’t know. It just does.”
Another coworker overhears.
“What are we doing?”
“Naming the resort on the bird shirt.”
They join immediately.
No questions.
Soon there are four people standing around discussing a completely imaginary tropical resort.
Suggestions:
Macaw Manor.
Rejected.
Too formal.
The Screaming Parrot.
Accurate but not relaxing.
Feathers & Palms.
Possible.
Squawk ‘n’ Sand.
Strong contender.
Someone says:
“Wait. What if the macaw is the manager?”
Silence.
Of course the macaw is the manager.
Everything clicks.
His name?
Carlos.
Nobody knows why.
He simply looks like Carlos.
10:18 AM.
The fictional resort now has management.
This is getting out of hand.
You return to work.
11:03 AM.
Email from coworker.
Subject:
IMPORTANT RESORT UPDATE
You open it.
There is a poorly designed flyer.
WELCOME TO SQUAWK ‘N’ SAND
General Manager: Carlos the Macaw
Amenities include:
Beachfront hammocks.
Unlimited fruit.
No meetings.
No spreadsheets.
Mandatory afternoon naps.
“Now we’re talking.”
You reply:
Does Carlos approve vacation requests?
Immediate response:
Carlos approves everything except early checkout.
Excellent manager.
11:47 AM.
Another coworker walks past your desk.
“Is that Carlos?”
“What?”
They point at the shirt.
Apparently word has spread.
“Yes.”
They nod respectfully toward the macaw.
“Morning, Carlos.”
This is now happening.
12:16 PM.
Lunch.
Five people are sitting together.
Outside, rain continues hitting the windows.
Someone looks at your shirt.
“Where do macaws actually live?”
Finally.
A legitimate question.
You pull out your phone.
Macaws are parrots native to parts of the Americas, particularly tropical regions of Central and South America, with different species occupying different habitats.
Interesting.
Someone asks:
“Do they all look like Carlos?”
“No.”
“Carlos is clearly exceptional.”
Obviously.
You look at the artwork again.
Colorful bird.
Palm tree.
Sun.
Retro style.
It’s basically concentrated vacation.
Someone says:
“You know what this reminds me of?”
“What?”
“Those old souvenir shirts your parents would bring home from vacations.”
Exactly.
The slightly faded-looking tropical graphics.
Palm trees.
Sunsets.
Flamingos.
Parrots.
Beach names.
Places you’ve either visited or suddenly wanted to visit because the shirt made them look incredible.
The design doesn’t simply say tropical.
It says:
Vacation happened here.
1:43 PM.
Afternoon slump.
Everyone is tired.
Rain still falling.
Carlos remains cheerful.
Someone messages the group:
MANDATORY RESORT ACTIVITY AT 2 PM
You respond:
What activity?
Coffee.
Reasonable.
2:00 PM.
Six people gather near the coffee machine.
Someone has found tropical music.
Quietly playing from a phone.
Another person puts a tiny paper umbrella into their water bottle.
“Where did you get that?”
“Desk drawer.”
You don’t ask why they keep cocktail umbrellas in a desk drawer.
Some mysteries improve life by remaining mysteries.
Someone announces:
“Welcome to Squawk ‘n’ Sand.”
Another raises their coffee.
“To Carlos.”
Everyone raises cups.
“To Carlos.”
You look down at the macaw.
This bird has accomplished more for workplace morale today than any team-building exercise you’ve ever attended.
3:26 PM.
Boss walks through.
Sees the tiny umbrella.
Hears tropical music.
Looks at the group.
Then at your shirt.
Long pause.
“What is happening?”
You explain.
Mostly.
“This is Carlos.”
You point at the macaw.
“He manages the resort.”
Your boss looks at the shirt.
Then at everyone.
Then at the rain outside.
Finally:
“Does Carlos have any openings?”
The group erupts.
Carlos has executive approval.
4:51 PM.
Workday almost over.
Forty-three unread emails?
Handled.
Meetings?
Survived.
Monday?
Nearly defeated.
You look out the window.
Still gray.
Still raining.
But somehow the day doesn’t feel quite as miserable anymore.
Maybe that’s the magic of tropical imagery.
A palm tree doesn’t need to actually transport you anywhere.
A sunset doesn’t need to be real.
Sometimes all it takes is a ridiculous colorful parrot on your shirt to remind everyone that somewhere in the world…
it’s probably beach weather.
5:04 PM.
You’re leaving.
Coworker calls:
“See you tomorrow!”
Then:
“Bye, Carlos!”
You look down.
The macaw’s expression hasn’t changed.
Professional.
You nod.
“Carlos says goodnight.”
By Tuesday morning, somebody has printed a sign for the break room:
SQUAWK ‘N’ SAND EMPLOYEE LOUNGE
This may have gone too far.
Or exactly far enough.
And that’s the spirit behind the Retro Macaw Unisex T-Shirt.
It’s for parrot people.
Bird people.
Beach people.
Travel people.
Cruise people.
Retro people.
And anyone whose preferred response to a stressful week is:
I need a vacation.
Wear it on beach trips.
Cruises.
Summer vacations.
Road trips.
Backyard parties.
Casual weekends.
Or gray Monday mornings when you need to bring your own sunshine.
You may not have palm trees outside.
The nearest beach may be hundreds of miles away.
And your vacation may still be six months from now.
But mentally?
You’re already there.
Somewhere warm.
Sun going down.
Palm tree overhead.
And one extremely colorful macaw apparently managing the entire operation.
RETRO SUNSHINE.
TROPICAL FEATHERS.
ISLAND-TIME ATTITUDE.
PARADISE HAS FEATHERS.
