The Group Project Nobody Asked For
You walk into Advanced Potions wearing your House of Snake Women’s T-Shirt.
Professor is standing beside the board.
There are four words written behind her:
TODAY: GROUP POTION PROJECT
Oh no.
Not the potion part.
The group part.
Professor begins assigning teams.
You get three partners.
One looks enthusiastic.
One looks terrified.
One appears to have forgotten there’s even a class today.
Excellent.
The professor explains the assignment.
“Each team will create an original potion using the ingredients provided.”
Interesting.
“You will be judged on effectiveness, creativity, stability, and presentation.”
Fine.
“You have ninety minutes.”
Still fine.
Then she adds:
“If your potion explodes, your team automatically fails.”
You slowly look at your group.
Enthusiastic Wizard is already holding dragon pepper.
“Let’s use this!”
“No.”
“Why?”
“You’re holding it over an open flame.”
He lowers it.
Good start.
You look at the ingredients.
Moonleaf.
Silverroot.
Dragon pepper.
Crystal water.
Glowberries.
Powdered beetle shell.
Something labeled:
DO NOT SHAKE.
You move that one farther away from Enthusiastic Wizard.
Now…
strategy.
“What kind of potion should we make?”
Terrified Witch suggests:
“Something safe.”
Reasonable.
Forgot-There-Was-Class Wizard says:
“Can we make one that finishes our homework?”
Everyone pauses.
Actually…
interesting.
Probably impossible.
But interesting.
You open the potion manual.
Think.
What can these ingredients actually do?
Moonleaf encourages calm.
Glowberries increase alertness.
Silverroot stabilizes magical mixtures.
Wait.
Calm.
Alert.
Stable.
You have an idea.
“What about a Focus Potion?”
Everyone looks interested.
Something useful for studying.
Terrified Witch nods.
“Can we make it without exploding?”
“That is currently the plan.”
Excellent.
Roles.
You handle formula.
Terrified Witch measures ingredients.
Forgot-Class Wizard takes notes.
Enthusiastic Wizard…
You look at him.
He’s holding dragon pepper again.
“You can stir.”
He looks disappointed.
“That’s it?”
“For now.”
Leadership isn’t always glamorous.
Sometimes it’s identifying the person who should absolutely not be in charge of combustible ingredients.
You begin.
Crystal water.
Heat gently.
Add moonleaf.
Stir clockwise.
Glowberries next.
Potion turns blue.
Good.
Silverroot.
Everything stabilizes.
Excellent.
Then Enthusiastic Wizard asks:
“Dragon pepper now?”
“No dragon pepper.”
“But it would make it stronger.”
“It could also make it explode.”
He thinks.
“Stronger though.”
“No.”
Continue.
Thirty minutes later…
potion is working.
Calm.
Clear.
Stable.
But something is missing.
The magical effect fades too quickly.
You check the ingredients again.
Powdered beetle shell extends duration.
Could work.
But it reacts with glowberries unless…
Wait.
Add it after cooling.
You adjust.
Potion turns silver-blue.
No smoke.
No fire.
No screaming.
Excellent signs.
Professor walks over.
“What are you making?”
“Focus Potion.”
“What does it do?”
“Helps the user stay calm and alert during studying.”
Professor nods.
“Useful.”
Very.
Especially around exam season.
Then she points toward the bottle marked:
DO NOT SHAKE.
“You didn’t use that?”
“No.”
“Why?”
You stare at the label.
“Because it says not to shake.”
Professor smiles.
“You’d be surprised.”
Across the classroom:
BOOM!
Everyone ducks.
Purple smoke fills the room.
Professor closes her eyes.
“Actually, you probably wouldn’t.”
Presentation time.
Your group goes third.
Terrified Witch explains the ingredients.
Forgot-Class Wizard presents the notes.
Enthusiastic Wizard demonstrates the potion.
You supervise the dragon pepper from across the room.
Everything works.
Professor announces the scores.
Effectiveness:
Excellent.
Creativity:
Excellent.
Stability:
Excellent.
Presentation:
Excellent.
Your group wins.
Everyone celebrates.
Enthusiastic Wizard says:
“We make a great team!”
You smile.
Somehow…
yes.
Then he holds up the dragon pepper.
“Next time?”
“No.”
That’s the spirit behind the House of Snake Women’s Cotton T-Shirt.
It’s for women who know ambition doesn’t mean stepping on everyone around you.
It can mean stepping forward.
Taking responsibility.
Finding solutions.
Keeping your cool when everything gets chaotic.
Recognizing people’s strengths.
Changing the plan when necessary.
And occasionally telling someone:
“Please put down the dragon pepper.”
It’s for the witches who set goals.
The gamers who think ahead.
The leaders who organize the chaos.
The problem solvers who find another way.
And the women who understand that confidence doesn’t require permission.
Wear it to fantasy events.
Gaming nights.
Coffee runs.
Casual adventures.
Study sessions.
Or your next group project where everyone slowly realizes…
you’re probably going to be the one making the plan.
HOUSE OF SNAKE.
Wizarding school pride.
Confident witch energy.
Clever ambition.
Know your goal. Trust your instincts. Make your move.
