Welcome to Magical Dueling
You walk into Practical Magical Dueling wearing your House of Lion Women’s T-Shirt.
The professor is already standing in the center of the room.
Two dueling platforms sit behind her.
That seems serious.
She raises her wand.
“Today we’re beginning partner duels.”
Half the class immediately looks excited.
The other half suddenly remembers several important appointments elsewhere.
Professor continues.
“Today’s lesson isn’t about winning.”
Interesting.
“It’s about control.”
Less exciting to the students who were hoping to dramatically blast their classmates across the room.
“You’ll practice defensive spells, disarming techniques, and proper dueling etiquette.”
Good.
Then she begins assigning partners.
You get paired with someone you’ve barely spoken to.
She looks nervous.
Very nervous.
“You okay?”
She nods.
Then shakes her head.
“Not really.”
Fair.
“I hate dueling.”
Also fair.
Across the room, another student overhears.
They laugh.
“Then you’re probably going to lose.”
You turn.
Your partner looks down.
The professor hasn’t heard.
You could ignore it.
Not your problem.
Except…
House of Lion has opinions about that.
You look at the student.
“Maybe worry about your own duel.”
They shrug.
“I’m just saying.”
“And now you’re done saying it.”
Silence.
Your partner looks at you.
“Thanks.”
“No problem.”
That’s courage too.
Not every battle requires a wand.
Sometimes it requires four seconds of awkwardness and deciding you’re okay with that.
The professor calls everyone into position.
You and your partner step onto the platform.
“Ready?”
She takes a breath.
“No.”
You smile.
“Me neither.”
That helps.
Professor raises her hand.
“Begin.”
Your partner casts first.
Defensive shield.
Solid.
Your turn.
Simple disarming spell.
She blocks it.
Nice.
She looks surprised.
“I did it.”
“You did.”
Again.
You cast.
She blocks.
Again.
Faster this time.
Block.
Her confidence starts building.
Then she attacks.
You weren’t expecting that.
A bright spell shoots across the platform.
You barely dodge.
“Whoa!”
She immediately panics.
“Sorry!”
“Don’t apologize. That was good!”
Now she’s smiling.
Professor walks past.
“Excellent control.”
Your partner stands a little taller.
Then the professor announces:
“Switch partners.”
Uh-oh.
Your new partner?
The student from earlier.
Of course.
They step onto the platform looking extremely confident.
“Ready?”
“Yep.”
Professor signals.
Begin.
They attack immediately.
Fast spell.
Shield.
Another spell.
Block.
Another.
Block.
They’re good.
Very good.
You take a step backward.
They grin.
“Having trouble?”
Maybe.
But House of Lion doesn’t need to pretend.
“A little.”
That surprises them.
Then you attack.
They block.
You attack again.
Block.
Third time.
They anticipate the same spell.
So you change it.
Disarming charm.
Their wand flies across the platform.
CLATTER.
Silence.
They stare at their empty hand.
You grin.
“Little less talking.”
The professor clears her throat.
Right.
Dueling etiquette.
You straighten.
“Good duel.”
They reluctantly nod.
“Good duel.”
Better.
Class continues.
Then something goes wrong.
Two students on the next platform cast at the same time.
Their spells collide.
A burst of magical energy ricochets toward the spectators.
Nobody has time to react.
You do.
You throw up a shield.
WHUMP.
Energy slams into it.
Your arms shake.
Shield flickers.
For one second, you’re not sure you can hold it.
Then another shield appears beside yours.
Your original partner.
Together, you push the spell away.
Energy disappears.
Room goes silent.
Professor lowers her wand.
She looks at both of you.
“Well done.”
Your partner is breathing hard.
“So…”
She looks at you.
“Maybe I don’t hate dueling.”
You laugh.
“Maybe.”
Then she adds:
“I still don’t like it.”
Also fair.
That’s the House of Lion spirit.
Courage doesn’t always mean charging into battle.
Sometimes it’s standing your ground.
Speaking up when someone else is being treated badly.
Trying something you’re afraid you’ll fail at.
Admitting when you’re struggling.
Giving someone else enough confidence to discover what they’re capable of.
And understanding that being strong doesn’t require making somebody else feel small.
That’s what the House of Lion Women’s T-Shirt celebrates.
Women with bold hearts.
Loyal friends.
Protectors.
Adventurers.
Leaders.
Women who can be kind without being timid.
Strong without being cruel.
Confident without needing everyone else’s approval.
And brave enough to step forward when it matters.
Wear it while gaming.
Traveling.
Exploring.
Meeting friends.
Attending fantasy events.
Conquering the workday.
Or handling another ordinary situation that suddenly requires considerably more courage than expected.
Because bravery doesn’t always arrive with dramatic music and a wand in your hand.
Sometimes it looks like:
“I’ll stand with you.”
HOUSE OF LION.
Wizarding school pride.
Fierce loyalty.
Confident courage.
Stand tall. Speak up. Lead with heart.
